14 - Anti-Smoking Campaign(Am I a Smoker?)

For decades, humans have been smoking. Even knowing what it may cause to their body, they still smoke. Why do humans smoke? What can it cause? How can we stop it? This are the questions you might have asked before.

Why do humans use smoke?
Before we answer that, we must know what's a cigarette made of. According to quitsmokingsupport.com, "Cigarette smoke contains over 4,000 chemicals, including 43 known cancer-causing (carcinogenic) compounds and 400 other toxins. These cigarette ingredients include nicotine, tar, and carbon monoxide, as well as formaldehyde, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, arsenic, and DDT.Nicotine is highly addictive. Smoke containing nicotine is inhaled into the lungs, and the nicotine reaches your brain in just six seconds."

How can Nicotine affect our brain? Nicotine acts like a Acetylcholine which is responsible for muscle movement, breathing, heart rate, learning, and memory.  It also affects your mood, appetite, memory, and more. When Nicotine reaches your brain, it mimics what a Acetylcholine.

What can it cause?
According to healthline.com, "Cigarettes contain about 600 ingredients. When they burn, they generate more than 7,000 chemicals. Many of those chemicals are poisonous and at least 69 of them can cause cancer. it affects all parts of your body. For instance, your lungs will have trouble clearing itself because of all the toxins that cigarette left. Smokers have a higher risk of respiratory infections, colds, and flu.

How can we stop it?
I don't have any experience on smoking, so I don't know how hard it is to remedy this. Law won't stop it. The only way you can stop smoking is to stop yourself. Nobody can tell you to stop smoking. Only you can stop yourself. Know what risk you are taking. Understand how it will affect the people around you. Family and friends can also help you stop smoking. Only those people you trust in the family.

You know what it will cause. It is up to you if you'll accept the consequences
